Events in and around Narrabri

As the seasons change in the Narrabri region of New South Wales, there are plenty of exciting and fun events to keep locals and visitors entertained. From agricultural shows to food and wine festivals, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Spring is a busy time in Narrabri, with events such as the Narrabri Show and the Gomeroi Spring Festival on the calendar. The Narrabri Show is an iconic event, featuring agricultural displays, livestock competitions, sideshows and rides. Visitors can relive childhood memories with fairy floss, show bags and carnival games, while admiring the best cattle, sheep and poultry from the region. The Gomeroi Spring Festival is a celebration of Aboriginal culture and includes traditional dance performances, art exhibitions and workshops.

Summer is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the warm weather. The annual Wee Waa Show is a popular event early in the season and features a rodeo, fireworks, live music and plenty of food and drink stalls. The Narrabri Farmers Market is held every fortnight during the summer, featuring fresh produce from the local area, handmade crafts and live music. For those looking to get active, the Narrabri Triathlon is a challenging event that takes participants on a 750m swim, 20km cycle, and 5km run through the countryside.

Autumn brings beautiful colours to the trees and a crispness to the air. The Fish Outta Water Festival is a unique event held annually at Chaffey Dam, where participants can fish for rainbow trout and enjoy live music, food and drink. The Narrabri Chamber of Commerce Festival of Entertainments is another highlight of the season, with carnival rides, markets, performances and competitions for the whole family to enjoy.

As winter arrives, the Narrabri region comes to life with the Winter Harvest Festival. The event is a showcase of the best local produce, with stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, cheese, bakery items and more. There are also cooking demonstrations, tastings, live music and entertainment for all ages. The Narrabri Rugby 7s is another exciting event held during the winter, with local and visiting teams competing for the prize.

No matter what the season, there is always something to do in and around the Narrabri region. With its friendly locals, stunning natural scenery and lively events calendar, it is a great place to visit or call home.
